Why not foreign?

Posted: March 11, 2006 in Uncategorized

Looking at most of the football teams in the Premiership, they consist of people from all over the world. Alan Pardew has now come out with saying that Arsenal football club have no English players, but I think he has over looked, players such as Ashley Cole, Sol Campbell and Theo Walcott. Unfortunately Arsenal are not playing with their full squad and even more unfortunate the English players are injured, except Walcott who has just come back from injury and is awaiting is debut.

When you look at any club they are buying players from all over the world and not many are homegrown!!! When a club is facing relegation where have they turned for players to get them out of the rut they are in…overseas!

If Alan Pardew could play in the Champions League at the cost of hs English players I do not think that he would say no to the opportunity. Same with Arsene Wenger, his best players in his unfortunate limitation of players happen to be foreign.

When Portmouth were going through difficulties why did not body question him when he bought foreign players into his squad!?!

Most teams that have retained their English players, if they sold them would expect over he odds for them! When Arsene bought Theo Walcott people complained that he paid too much, so why now are people complaining that he has no English players??

Why do people think that Premiership clubs should consist of English players when it should be talent and skill that determines whether a player should play at a Premiership club. When Alan Pardew looks at his squad does he see a room full of English men or a diversity of men from all over the world!?!

Why not buy players from other countries, just look at our England squad. We are always criticising who should be in the squad so proving that England have not got such a wide variety of talented and skillful players! When we can sit and think how do we chose who plays in the England squad because there are just too many great players to choose from then clubs that don’t go out of their way to buy English players can be criticised, but until then nothing can be said as most clubs are buying foreign talent!

Some times people should look at themselves before talking mess about others! Pardew is not having the best of season’s so should focus on his team and not worry about where other teams players come from!

Goodbye & Good Luck!!

Today Sunderland have sacked their manager Mick McCarthy!
Just last month Greame Sounness was sacked as Newcastle United manager. Why is it that the manager is blamed for the lack of success of the team?
Newcastle have become a better team with the sacking of their manager, but Sunderland are a newly promoted team and not always can they manage the pace set in the Premiership!
Sunderland won the Championship, which seems to have been forgotten as they have struggled to make an impact in the Premiership.
It has been so hard for Mick to really bring out the potential in the Premiership, which is expected as their is a big gap in the level of play from the Championship to the Premiership and it can be hard to bridge that gap. Wigan surprised everyone with their performance as they powered up the Premiership table almost holding Chelsea in their first game as a Premisership team. But looking at all three teams that have been promoted they are struggling to really get to grips with the Premiership as their are the tops teams and the bottom teams! That is how football works and now Sunderland have another problem to face them this season as they have 10 matches before the end of the season, but they are having to do that under a caretaker manager. Sunderland cannot getr out of the rut they are in, but they could have kept Mick ’til the end of the season and then make their decision!
All that is left is to wish Mick McCarthy the best of luck for the future!
