The Sex Edition

Posted: December 18, 2012 in Uncategorized

Okay another ‘My So-Called Life’ inspired post.

This is a sex edition.

When you were 15 years old, was sex as important as it seems today?

I didn’t lose my virginity at 15, I was older, but I felt no pressure to lose it any earlier or later. I watch TV programmes today & the idea of not losing your virginity at or before 15, seems to be implied.
This scene really seems to reflect the pressure on young people today.

Is the pressure for sex higher for girls than it is for guys?

I can’t relate to either situation to be honest, but I definitely can’t relate to a guys perspective. Does respect for ones self come from your upbringing or do you grow to respect yourself?
I never was told I was ugly by anyone but my father… He thought it was funny, but I never felt the need to fall into a guys arms (or bed) to make myself feel pretty.

The conclusion of the episode was that she shouldn’t have sex if she wasn’t ready.
No matter the pressure, if someone cares about you they would be willing to wait & if they are not, then the relationship can not be all you think it is.
