Censor Me… Not!

Another feminist blog post, but this is necessary.

I just watched the film ‘Free The Nipple’ and it actually upset me that we look at countries that are censored and feel bad for them, but we forget to be sorry for ourselves living in the “free” world.

I live in the UK, and I am a woman! I watch offensively as my husband bears his chest when the weather gets to hot to handle. This past few days the temperature high was 36°C/96°F and as a woman I would offend everyone if I were to remove my top. Some topless men (as stated before, this includes my husband) offend me when they walk around without a top, but they have that right and I do not.

I am an object of sexual desire and not an equal to human males. I was taught to not make a fuss, to tone down my behaviour and never act boystrous… Emphasis on the boy!! There are saying like “boys will be boys” for a reason, because it is a mans world.

As a woman our bodies, even our lives are not ours to do as we please. Because of what was the Bibles original sin… Eve has been the symbol for all women. We are punished because some men wrote a book making a woman second class and in need of control.

Men forget that they were nurtured by a woman…. The body that they have now sexualised was where they began their existence. They suckled on the breast of a woman long before that breast became a sex toy!

Women didn’t decide that their bodies were for the soul purpose of making a man feel sexually stimulated. There is a naked rambler (he has traveller wearing nothing but his boots and a backpack), there are discussions to stop him and even threats of criminal proceedings. This is occurring because he is not wearing underpants, but if that was a woman she would need to wear underpants and a bra! This naked rambler would not be a topic of discussion if he just went topless, but as women going topless became a big global campaign.

Women can’t even breast feed her child. I have watched recently a documentary called ‘The Tribe’, and most of the women are topless. They don’t fear or get punished for doing so. In the western world we make fear the primary state.

We are afraid of being natural, we fear aging and we fear being alone. I don’t know many women that don’t wear make-up of some kind. I don’t wear make-up and I no longer (for about 3 years) straighten or use any chemicals on my hair. I never really shaved my legs, but they are not that hairy so was never really an issue.

I look at some of the aging women in my area and so many have had some kind of plat I surgery and what is concerning is many young women are having plastic surgery on their faces… Not sure why, but it definitely ages them. We are so concerned with our outer selves that we are suffering on the inside.

So many people are unhappy because they are not taught to love themselve, but to critisize and compare not only ourselves but others.

I say let us be free, find the love within and stop restricting the human experience!
